Laws of the Sport of Bowls
Effective 1st April 2011 some changes to the World Bowls Laws of the Sport have to be implemented by all lawn bowling clubs. Members should be aware of these changes, which are highlighted in yellow in the PDF format of the rules. After clicking on PDF simply scroll through the document to find the yellow highlighted sections. The first change is in Section 15.
It should be noted that rule 23.5 gives National Authorities the discretion to change the minimum jack length from 23m to 21m. Bowls Canada has decided to make this change. The revised version of the Laws issued by Bowls Canada in a handbook form is available for purchase at the clubhouse.

15th Anniversary of the Club - see slide presentation
On May 31st 2010 the club celebrated the 15th anniversary of lawn bowling in Parksville with a ceremony honouring Bob Benton, Betty Benton, Dave Cross and George Richardson, the pioneers who had the dream of bringing the sport to Parksville. The ceremony also was a "recognition of the many people who helped bring that dream to reality". To view the slide presentation made at the celebration click here.
