Year End Awards Dinner Update
The Awards Dinner is now fully booked up to the 60 person limit. We hope that not too many members have been disappointed. However, just in case of cancellations, there will be a spares list posted at the club as soon as possible. For reference the full list of the members that have signed up will also be posted at the club. If you have not already purchased your tickets Vicki will be at the club all day Wednesday and Thursday during the Battle of the Sexes. Please make the effort to attend and pay for your ticket[s].
Update for the Volunteers attending to help put the greens to bed for the Winter ……
START TIME FOR TUESDAY ONLY WILL BE 9:00 am. Monday start time remains the same at 8:00 am.
Males and females are all welcome to come out and assist. If you are volunteering, and you have a snow shovel, personal shovel or wheelbarrow, please bring those along.
Volunteers needed!!
To help put the greens to bed for the Winter.
Monday, September 25th at 8:00 am and Tuesday September 26th at 9:00 am (this is the revised time).
Monday 25th
3 hours for Hydraulic Slit Seeder testing.
Other volunteers needed to shift sand via Tractor and trailer. Sand transportation to green from shed by Sandi Mitchell’s trailer using the tractor.
Usual Monday social coffee etc. after testing.
Monday afternoon off.
Tuesday 26th
- Core aeration.
- Remove cores. Tractor and trailer can also be used.
- Sand and over-seed.
At some time during these proceedings Vicki will provide a light lunch.

1:30 QB & PLBC – Interclub Open Draw Exchange @ QB 10 Ends

Parksville and Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Clubs have reached agreement so that club members can play in specified open draw matches in the other club without payment of visitor fees starting Sunday, June 15, 2025.
Initially, there will be a limit of 8 “exchange” tags offered on a first come/first served basis.
Process
• A visiting member shows their membership card to the draw-master and is given a “Guest” Tag. (Qualicum has some Parksville specific tags.)
• The visitor writes name, skill level (L – Lead/Second; T – Third; S – Skip) and club identifier (P or QB if needed) on Tag and hands it back to draw-master.
• The Draw will occur normally with the draw-master ensuring a good mix of guests and locals.
• Visiting skips may be offered skip positions at the discretion of the draw-master.
Here is the initial list of weekly open draws offered under this arrangement.

Sunday 13.30 draw (10 ends)

Time: 1:00 PM (Tags in by 12:45) Entry Fee: MINIMUM $5 (All proceeds go to CHAMP/War Amp charity) Refreshments provided. Bar. Dress Code: Wear something red or white (or both!) Bring your Canadian Flags! Fun 8 end game with some quirks!
We will again be collecting donations to the CHAMP (Child Amputee) Program operated by The War Amps. You can make a donation at the July 1st Fun Day, or you can drop off cash in an envelope or a cheque to The War Amps in the drop box in the draw room, or by e-transfer to treasurer@parksvillelawnbowlingclub.com by 4 pm on June 30th. Income Tax receipts will be issued by The War Amps for donations over $20.00. Mailing addresses are needed for them to mail you the receipt.- Cash donations, attach a piece of paper with your name and address on it.
- Cheques to The War Amps, make sure the address on your cheque is your current address.
