Parksville Lawn Bowling Club
It was a great weekend for lawn bowling in Nanaimo with calm winds, pleasant temperatures, and greens which were hard and fast. Over twenty teams signed up for the two day event. In the end, only two club took the top five positions: Courtenay and Parksville.
First place went to Vern Greenhill, Henril Saucier and Shelley Howison representing Courtenay. Second was the Brian Scheer, Cindy Greenhill and Glen Greenhill team also of Courtenay. Bill Burgess, Don Urquhart and Robbie Thomas of Parksville earned third. Another Courtenay team took fourth, that of Dean Penny, Shelley McCallum and Brandi Knight. Kate Wilson, Merry Danarti and Gary Carson of Parksville earned the fifth and final place.
Next up will be the Courtenay Scotch Pairs on May 31 and June 1.
