Short Mat Wrap-up

Parksville Lawn Bowling Club
We finished off the short mat season with a two day competition followed by a pizza supper. Thanks to all those who helped organize the event, provide great snacks, assist in the kitchen and help with the cleanup. A special thanks to Sandi Mitchell for her umpiring assistance during the event and to Mick Banks who provided a number of templates to assist in selecting the teams and assigning rinks.
The results are:

What a great time to gather with friends and fellow lawn bowlers. Have fun, share some laughs, get to know one another a little better, and make some friends. This Social time happens in the winter session from 3:00 to 4:30 after short Mat on Fridays and Sundays, and during the summer, after the Friday and Sunday afternoon games. Cold drinks are available from the bar, and soft drinks and water from the fridge and if you prefer a hot tea, that can also be available. 1:00 pm Thirds/Skips Clinic
Category
The clinic is from 1:00 till 2:00.
The clinic is to discuss the things you should know when playing in the position of third or skip. You do not have to be a third to participate. In the clinic we will discuss some basic rules, etiquette and strategy. After the classroom we will go out to the green to examine some ‘heads’ and discuss different options to make a shot or what to do under different circumstances.
There will be a sign up sheet on the coaching board or you may sign up using the form below:
