Draw Masters Needed

Our Club is looking for Draw Masters for the following draws:

Tuesday 6:30 pm (perhaps in a Cutthroat format)

Thursday 9:30 am – 10 ends

Saturday 9:30 am – 8 ends

Please contact Joey Merrell if you are interested in overseeing one of these draws.

Garage Sale APRIL 11th — 8am to 12noon.

 
It’s time to begin gathering your donations to this sale.
The Clubhouse Sunroom will be open to receive them
from April 5th through 9th.
Items should be clean and in good working condition.
No large furniture or clothing please.
Members are invited to a pre-sale on Fri. April 10th 
from 10am to 2pm.
Volunteers are welcome for the day of the sale, both
for the actual sale and for the ensuing clean-up.

Pre-Season Exercises

Are you ready for the start of the new bowling season?
If, like me, you have spent most of the winter watching curling, tennis, the Olympics, chair yoga and maybe a few views of Tai chi walking maybe you should think about doing some exercises to get ready for lawn bowling. There are any number of exercises on the internet related to lawn bowling. I have typed up a list of some I found and it will be posted here as soon as it is possible.

In the meantime, I have hung up the list on the coaching board in the sunroom. If you decide to use them, realize that they are ones I use but may not be ones you can use. I am not a physical therapist nor a fitness instructor.

Winter activities at the club will end at the end of March.

There is a  short mat competition on March 28 (from 9:30) & 29th (from 11, with the final game at 2:30). Tea, coffee and snacks will be available both days with the bar being open from 4 p.m. onwards. There is a pizza supper after the final. Expected cost is $5 to $8 depending on numbers. Sign up at the club.

The SAGM is Saturday April 4th at 1 p.m. Further details will be sent in March.

The April board meeting is on the 13th at 3 p.m.

The garage sale is Saturday April 11th from 8 to 12. Drop off your items during the prior week.

The open house to attract new members is slated for April 18th and 19th from 1 to 3.

Opening day is Sunday April 26th; an 8 end game followed by a social get together.

Baking for the short mat tournament, open house and future social events
would be appreciated. Please leave your items in the freezer with your
name and baking date.

OPEN HOUSE DATES have been decided and in case you didn’t see it posted on the calendar I thought I would bring it to your attention. This year the Open Houses will be on Saturday April 18 and Sunday April 19 from 1:00 pm till 3:00 pm. The coaches will once again depend upon your help to welcome the public and to help with the bowling part. So,  please, mark the dates on your calendar and we’ll see you then.
