Final Outdoor Bowling Day
Please come on September 27 and join us for the final day of outdoor bowling. It will be an easy 8 end draw game at 1:00 pm, with tags in at 12:45.
Following the game, please gather in the Clubhouse to share in social time with your fellow members. Please bring an appetizer (hot or cold) to share at the potluck. Bag tags and any outstanding awards will be presented at the social time. If you are only coming for the social time, please plan to be at the Club by 2:00 pm.
Winter Activities
Our winter activities occur weekly and their start dates are as follows:
Mahjong – October 12 at 7 pm (public welcome)
Crib – October 14 at 1 pm (public welcome)
Darts – October 14 at 7 pm (members only)
Bridge – October 15 at 1 pm (public welcome)
Short Mat starts Friday October 16 at 1 pm, Sunday October 18 at 1 pm and Tuesday October 20 at 1 pm (members only)
Cost for winter activities is $2.00 per person per week.
Mahjong Lessons
Mahjong lessons for members of the club who are interested in joining the Mahjong Club and want to learn how to play will be available on Monday, September 28th at 2:00 in the club room.
We play Chinese Mahjong and meet on Monday evenings from October through to March. If you wish to participate please email Murray Sinclair at at msin44@gmail.com so that we know how many to prepare for.
September 16th – Which Soup is For You?
The Social Club will also be providing homemade Chicken Noodle Soup on September 16th as an alternative to Taco Soup. Please indicate your choice i.e. send April an email.

Parksville/Qualicum Challenge Reminder
On Saturday August 8th, 8 teams of Parksville Triples players will play host to 8 teams from Qualicum Beach in a greenful of frantic activity starting at 10 am.
At 2 pm the action moves to Qualicum Beach for another set of 8 games.
At the end of the day the successful Club walks away with the trophy, which Parksville currently holds after last year’s Challenge victory.
Drop in at either, or both, venues to see some good bowling and to support your Club’s teams.

Happy Canada Day
The club was buzzing on Wednesday, July 1st, as a number of different events were happening that day. In the morning, it was Luise Norman and Bob Allaby receiving accolades for winning the Scotch Pairs League (Spring) for this year. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone for participating in this league.
In the afternoon, everyone gathered outside in the warm sunshine to have the annual group photo taken before the activities celebrating Canada Day, and our annual fund raiser for the CHAMPS War Amps Child program. Lots of fun was had by all in the event with the War Amps organization coming out the winner. The CHAMPS Program has been one of our fundraising activities for a number of years, and a big thank you goes out to all who participated in this special event. By the way, Happy Birthday to Chuck who celebrated his special day by coming out to take photos for these events.
