The Parksville Lawn Bowling Club is involved in several fundraising events throughout the bowling season. We hold club tournaments, club draws and open tournaments where monies raised are donated to various charities within our community. Among these are: the War Amps, Hospice Society and Cancer Patient Care. We also donate to the Legion Poppy Fund and the Salvation Army Food Bank.
Shades of Pink/Ladies Day, August 10/2016
Shades of Pink
Description of Tournament: The ladies dress in pink, have three players on each team, play with two bowls each, and play six ends per game in a round robin tournament. The winners are determined by points scored and ends won. This is a competitive tournament with a trophy. The gentlemen of the club don beautifully stitched pink aprons to serve lunch. They also prepare and set up the greens for play and do other related chores. This is a challenging fun day for the women members supported by our men. The club house and green are decorated in pink with tables set in a formal manner. All money raised goes to support Cancer Patient Care in our Community. There is no budget, all money and prizes come from donations, volunteers and the entry fee paid by participants.

Our motto is “Making Life easier for cancer patients and their families.”
The club members are proud to have raised approximately $4,706.00 to-date.
