Is for everyone. There is no sign up sheet and you can come on any Friday you would like.  If you are curious about the skills that are being taught on any Friday the list is on the coaching board. Coaching for specific problems is also available.

begins June 5 and closes June 26

Scotch Pairs
Open to all players. Limited to 16 teams.
July 2 – August 6
6:30 pm $6.00 pp
Teams of choice

Wednesday morning Summer League
Cutthroat ladder
Open to all players. Limited to 24 players.
July 3 – August 7
9:30 am $6.00 pp

Thursday evening Summer
Mixed Triples league
Open to all players. Limited to 16 teams.
July 4 – August 8
6:30 $6.00 Teams of Choice

Winners receive name on a trophy and Bag tags.

Marker Clinic – July 12, 2024 – 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

Marker Clinic

Here is an opportunity for bowlers to qualify as a Marker for the first time and for those whose certification expired in 2023 to renew. District Head Umpire Rod Tester will be teaching a half day course in the morning of Friday July 12th here in Parksville.

A marker plays an important role in Singles games, both as a helper to the two players and helping to ensure that certain Laws of the Sport are complied with by both players. The clinic offers a way to improve your own game, your measuring skills and your knowledge of the Laws of the Sport.

The price is right, there is no charge for this clinic. You just need to spend that morning learning.

Friday Morning Coaching

Friday morning coaching is there for all players, all levels of play, who are looking for help with any part of their game. Your coaches will have set up different challenges for you to practice which will help you if you want to improve your game skills. If you need help and cannot make the Friday morning session, please let me know through our website under Player Development and we can find a better time. You may also request the help of any of the coaches.

Bowlympics a Big Hit at Parksville Club

Bronze Medal Winners Mary Card, Diana Olenick and Roger Taylor with the ever handsome Detritus.
Gold medal winners Trevor Motley, Kathleen Motley, Detritus and Nadine Kilkenny.

This year’s Bowlympics was played under sunny skies and light winds with a great response  of  both experienced and novice players turning out for the event.  The combination of regular and unique skill challenges in lawn bowling made for a lot of laughs and light-hearted  banter.  A special guest  appearance in the person of Detritus (a.k.a. Geoff Holland), helped to complete the afternoon’s event.

The Gold Medal went to the team of Trevor Motley, Kathleen Motley and novice Nadine Kilkenny.  They scored a whopping 18 points for their medal win.

Silver Medal winners with 16 points was  the team of Peter Scott, Miriam Gunn, Brian Larkin and Jeff McEachern, another novice.

Mary Card, Diana Olenick and novice,  Roger Taylor,  earned the Bronze Medal with 13 points.

The club would like to thank RBC Wealth Management , Louise Alix and Sandy Taylor  for their involvement with the event which has been a part of the club’s schedule since 2002.  Also, congratulations to all the novices who came out for this event.  We hoped you had fun and we’ll see you in even more of our club’s events.  A special thanks to Chuck Benson for the great pics.  Always reliable and always great shots!!
